How to Organize a Debate
- Each group has 15 minutes to prepare for the debate with their team members and decide which arguments to defend.
- Each group chooses one representative to speak and another representative to prepare a document to be submitted at the end of the session.
- Document to be submitted at the end of the session: A) Arguments supporting our position. B) Rebuttal to the opposing arguments and C) Bibliography (legislation and articles, monographs, or databases consulted).
- Group A representative presents their arguments in 10 minutes.
- Group B representative asks questions to clarify any unclear points. Group A representative has 5 minutes to respond.
- Group B representative presents their arguments in 10 minutes.
- Group A representative asks questions to clarify any unclear points. Group B representative has 5 minutes to respond.
- Each group has 5 minutes to think about their conclusions and another 5 minutes to present them.
- Each group has 15 minutes to discuss the debate with their team members and decide on the content of the document to be submitted to the teacher.
