How to Organize a Debate

  1. Each group has 15 minutes to prepare for the debate with their team members and decide which arguments to defend.
  2. Each group chooses one representative to speak and another representative to prepare a document to be submitted at the end of the session.
  3. Document to be submitted at the end of the session: A) Arguments supporting our position. B) Rebuttal to the opposing arguments and C) Bibliography (legislation and articles, monographs, or databases consulted).
  4. Group A representative presents their arguments in 10 minutes.
  5. Group B representative asks questions to clarify any unclear points. Group A representative has 5 minutes to respond.
  6. Group B representative presents their arguments in 10 minutes.
  7. Group A representative asks questions to clarify any unclear points. Group B representative has 5 minutes to respond.
  8. Each group has 5 minutes to think about their conclusions and another 5 minutes to present them.
  9. Each group has 15 minutes to discuss the debate with their team members and decide on the content of the document to be submitted to the teacher.
